Yesterday evening Payton's cousins came out and played outside for quite some time (I was hoping this might burn some good energy off of Payton so she would go to sleep at a decent time for us). Laney and Payton love to ride bikes together and Sara and I walked behind them. Payton ended up crashing on her bike and decided she didn't want to ride anymore so she was going to walk back. I laughed and told Sara I wasn't sure Payton would make it all the way back to the house walking - I figured she would get tired and have to be carried. Little did I know she would take off to the neighbors house and into the woods. That girl can wander anywhere - no direction in sight - and not tucker out! I was shocked - Bob ended up having to go get her in the car (we had the little ones and were doing our best to keep her in sight). Needless to say she was not happy about stopping her little hike, but I was shocked how far she got!

I'm not sure what's going on with Payton but we've been having trouble getting her to sleep at night. She typically takes 3 melatonin tablets and usually goes to sleep around 9:30. At the beginning of last week she started staying awake until 11:00 and so I decided to up the melatonin to 4 tablets (thinking she had gained enough weight she may need more). Sure enough, still up til 11:00. Last night I decided to up it one more time to 5 tablets and finally she was asleep at 11:30. She's obviously not having any problems with this - she's got energy and is happy in the morning.....but I'd like to see her asleep by atleast 10:00. Heather's post about Caleb singing KISS songs at 4:30am cracked me up! And - showed me that this is all just beginning for us - and before long she will be waking us up in the night singing. :)

LOL!! Caleb sleeps pretty good most of the time now. Before the melatonin he would get up to pee about 5 times throughout the night. At least he would go right back to sleep. I think that is what happened the other night. He woke up to pee, and decided it was a good time for a song? Thankfully he was back to sleep before too long. I am still catching up on the first 9 years of terrible sleeping habits. What is the dose of the tablets you give her? Caleb takes half of a 3mg tab. That little stinker Payton wandering off into the woods. I swear she is Caleb's twin at heart. No fear of the unknown. Life is just a huge adventure for them. ;)

She is so funny. We are finally on an upswing with our sleeping. I am so glad. I thought I was going to just drop over.
