Parent Teacher Conference

I recently had Koen and Payton's pictures taken - Koen was turning 18 months and Payton is about to turn five, so I just took them both and had them done. Things have been going so well with Payton and I really wanted to capture this moment. As I know you all understand, it is very hard to look at past pictures - the feelings, exhaustion, heartache, etc all come back to the surface. Our family is now at the point where things are getting easier and I wanted to capture the moment, knowing I could look at these pictures and have good memories of it. We were just thrilled with the way they turned out. I told the photographer that my kids have completely different personalities and she managed to capture both - I love it :)

Today was Payton's parent teacher conference. It went okay - but she does have a major problem focusing (already knew that but it hurts hearing someone else say it). I saw some pictures of things she tried to draw - for instance they asked her to draw a picture of herself. It was just a scribbled line and that's hard to see, but atleast I know she's going thru the process of learning how to do it. I guess I should be thankful she is putting the pencil to paper and atleast trying to do what they are asking of her. Her teacher has read the ws book I gave her (which is amazing to me - I have such respect for her) and is working very hard with Payton. I really appreciate that because I know preschool will set up such a foundation for Payton - I'm glad this year she's been blessed with such a great teacher.

Ari couldn't draw a person or a face until last year and not until they started Handwriting Without Tears. I would order it for yourself and work on it at home...this is what helped Ari take off with writing..I suggested it to the school and now they have adopted it globally for all the O.T. clients with writing probs.
It will come I promise you...It will come.

O.K. aside from that, I love love love love love those pictures. That one of Payton in the ballet dress...is amazing! I wish I had one of my kids like that!
I am jealous!

Love the pictures. It must be WS because focus is Noah's biggest issue. I have to confess I haven't read any books about WS. I know I am a slacker. Could you give me the name of it. For me and his teachers.

I'm waking up my family as soon as I log off so they can see the pictures!!! I just love them. Especially Payton on the sofa making her little brother laugh! I feel the same way it is hard hearing others point out things about our children even if we already know them.

I lovvvvve those pictures!!! The one of Payton and Koen on the couch together, well oh my word, that is about the cutest thing I've ever seen. LOVE IT!!!

I'm totally dreading a parent-teacher conference at Connor's preschool. I really just don't want to hear anything else negative about my child. It gets so old after awhile.

I think it's awesome that your teacher read the book you gave her, that's a committed teacher for you!

Those photos rock! PTCs are not so much fun, are they? Avery got a pretty good report but was eating sand while we were talking...sigh.

I do love all of the pictures! Abi thinks that Payton makes a beautiful ballerina!

Abi still can't draw a face BUT if I instruct her step by step she can put features where they go. ( Draw a big circle, put two little circles for eyes, put a little circle in the middle for the nose...)

oh my gosh those pictures are absolutely stunning! I'm sure you're thrilled with how they turned out; just beautiful!

Kayla is the same way with drawing...I actually had one of her classmates ask me the other day "How come Kayla still colors sloppily?" sigh...
